Forum Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy for the Discussion Center

The purpose of the forums is to share support, information and experience ... debates, jokes ... anything that's on your mind. We ask only that you be polite with one another. It would be unreasonable to expect everyone to agree about everything at all times. We expect everyone to be treated with dignity and respect, whether or not you agree with someone's point of view.

The forums may not be used to promote any particular treatment, provider, facility or product. Treatment providers and manufacturers, developers or suppliers of products related to facial palsy are welcome to browse, but may not post messages. If administration believes that a treatment provider is posting, or that staff or patients are posting on behalf of a provider or facility, it will viewed as a violation of Forum policy. These messages will be deleted and membership will be terminated. The same policy applies to product manufacturers, developers and suppliers. Furthermore, any members who invite or in any way encourage this will be banned.

The Forum is protected by copyright, and Forum members' privacy must be respected. Information posted at the Forums shall remain at the Forum. It may not be reproduced in other publications, and may not be used in the development of any other website or publication.

Persons described in prior paragraphs, as well as reporters and authors are forbidden to acquire or utilize members' personal information and contact them for any purpose. Attempts to do so will be deemed as Copyright infringement and invasion of our members' privacy. Furthermore, members who respond to any such contacts will be banned from the Forum.

Respect for Forum members' privacy is not limited to information posted. If members choose to share personal information with other members (such as their real names, email addresses, photos etc.), it is to be respected as a personal confidence.

The user also agrees to the following Terms:

1. Information provided at the Bell's Palsy Information Site and/or posted at these forums is not medical advice, and cannot be used as a substitute for professional medical care.
2. Flaming, harassment and personal assaults are unacceptable behavior at this site.
3. Vulgar, abusive, racist, and sexist language will not be tolerated.
4. Spamming, advertising, solicitation and exploitation are forbidden.
5. Do not flood the board. Messages may be posted once - if copies of a message are posted in multiple forums, all but one will be deleted.
6. You may not violate Forum members' privacy.
7. Members are not permitted to provide any publication with information that they acquired at the Forum or Website.

Violation of any of the above Terms may result in deletion of the offending posts and/or termination of membership at the Forum.

By joining the Forum you agree that neither the Forum owners, nor any person or entity associated with them, will be held responsible for the contents, accuracy, completeness or validity of any information posted in them.

The site reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the user agreement at any time without prior notice to the user. We suggest that you periodically review the terms of this agreement.
