Stealing bandwidth isn't cool! What is bandwidth theft? Website owners pay for storage as well as for the bandwidth used every time data or images are transferred. Using a hotlink to transfer an image from one site to another costs someone - not just when you put that link up, but every time someone views the page you put the image on. Furthermore, it can slow access to the site that is paying to host the image.
Permitted: Links to images you have stored on a server or in web storage space provided to you, for example by your ISP.
Banned: Hotlinks from other forums or websites. Hotlinks to other forums or websites. Lewd, vulgar or otherwise socially unacceptable images.
